So excited for this fit book! I love your comment about fitting a typical size 20w, but is there advice in the book for modifications? I’m super tall so my size 20 does look more like the straight size expanded and I find most plus size clothing is way too big in the hips/butt and in the arms.
Hi Ellen. Thanks so much for asking. The book is designed for fashion students and keen amateurs and is a patternmaking and technical design book. The book has you draft from measurements so you wouldn’t really have to do modifications if that makes sense.
Your description made me think of pants I’ve gotten from Lucy & Yak. Have you ever tried them? Their jeans felt like the straight size thing and they were super long on me.
Ah! This book is so exciting for me as a nerdy home sewist. I’ve love Leila’s look and muna and broad. The most heart warming thing though, is the hope for inclusive new designers.
I LOVE Leila’s style and am a longtime fan of Muna and Broad (even though I’m not quite in their size range, I love their designs). This is such a great interview!
Such an honour and pleasure to do this style questionnaire! Thank you!
Wow what a dream! There is so much possibility and information here, along with incredible style.

"hero pieces" -- what a great concept! I feel inspired to take in my closet anew, with this idea in mind.
Same here!!
Me too!
LOVED to see the “What’s more punk than the public library” shirt—yay for DC representation!!!
I love Leila and was soooo excited to see this come out!
