We deserve an award for making it through February, wouldn’t you agree?
The month ended with an economic blackout, which I tried to embrace while finding the leader VERY SUS. Many people much smarter than me have very valid critiques of a one day spending freeze, but I’m glad a lot of people are thinking about boycotts and collective action and spending habits.
If you need a little pick-me-up, may I suggest making yourself a batch of these cookies? This has been my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe for years, but I felt very validated when I made them for friends recently who then asked for the recipe. They are beloved! You do not have to cream any butter! But if you have a recipe you think is better… My DMs are open.
My big problem right now, besides you know…. everything, is that my skin is DRY AF. It’s just that time of year. Plus, I’m doing lots of extra handwashing to avoid the flu and I’m in the middle of getting a large, multi-session tattoo, so I need more moisturizers than ever. I’m still eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Soft Services hand cream, but in the meantime this is my unaesthetic fave. I love the weird cylindrical packaging. It’s great for hands and tattoo care. It keeps my horrible sandpaper-y dry skin at bay, what more can I say??? I’ also still using the fatty and really loving it for cracked heels.
On my face I’ve been trying out some things that Tula skincare sent me: a serum, a mask, & an eye thing. The mask is a clear gel—not creamy, if that makes sense—which seems like it might be really nice in the summer. I remain skeptical of skincare thanks to
but I also enjoy the sensory and emotional experience of being gentle with my largest organ. For me it feels fun to experiment all the while knowing that my fine lines are going nowhere.
I’m planning to start March like a well moisturized lion and leave it a well moisturized and tattooed lamb. STAY TUNED!!

Try the naturium glow getter body wash and bio- lipid restoring lotion. I feel like it leaves skin soft and plump and I’m in a cold climate with sand paper skin.
I second Corinne’s cookie recipe— I’ve tried many and it’s my go to. I do love everyday oil for moisturizing, and also Wonder Valley hinoki oil.
