TLDR: big belly friendly junpsuit @ Oddbird Co.

So, I carry a lot of weight in my lower belly, which hangs pretty low apron style over my groin and upper hips. This makes finding pants very hard since the rise is never high enough, I get a front butt effect very easily, and anything one piece like jumpsuits and swimsuits is suuuuper hard to find as the torso part is bever long enough. But lately I won a Divane Jumpsuit from Oddbird Co. during a live event they did and it fits like a dream. It has a cool sewn-in tie at the waist, which I personnally like, a wide leg, batwing elbow length sleeves, deep pockets, deep V-neck, a long zipper in the front. It’s easy to put on. Oddbird fabrics are always wonderful, too. This one is turkish cotton and rayon I think? Pretty lightweight, flowy. Anyway, a very well fitting jumpsuit. For ref I’m 5’4, size 4/5X, 26/28, 55-50-63. I wear their 5X and there’s a picture of me in it on their IG.

I saw you modeling that and ALMOST BOUGHT IT!!!!!! It looks freakin amazing on you. I really like Oddbird, so I shouldn't be surprised!

Apparently they tweaked the fit after hearing some feedback about how the torso was too short! This one is insane I can’t stop wearing it.

I have been considering the divane jumpsuit but I am vastly different sizes on the top and on the bottom. Do you think that the waistband cinches enough that a blousy top would look chic? For reference, I think I would need either a 3X or a 4X for my hips - but more like an XL or 1X for my bust /waist.

You could also check the back rise measurement if you have a butt, which I don’t, so I can’t really help you there :)

I think there’s a very good chance it would, yes! You could theoretically cinch it to 0 inches since it goes all the way around. I’d suggest you ask them the precise measurements for the sizes you’re considering, both the hip measurement and crotch to shoulder rise, which is 37in in the 5X. They’re super nice and will gladly give you everything you need I’m sure!

Ok, I've been liking all the beaded necklaces I've seen lately, so I picked up some beads, and I'm telling you you can make that necklace (not in aquamarine obviously) for $20.

I have the Kate jumpsuit from US and I can confirm it’s super cute. The fabric is pretty thick and heavy. I have a long torso and short legs which makes jumpsuits tricky for me but this one fits perfect. I also got a second hand jumpsuit from Rachel Antonoff with an adorable tomato print (I will say the fabric of that one is much thinner than I expected). I guess what I’m saying is that I love jumpsuits and don’t think they’re out of style at all :)

My wish list right now is much more "things I wish existed." I've gotten fixated on finding a great pair of huaraches for summer, with a cute almond shaped toe, BUT I need an extra wide shoe (regular wide widths won't do it). I cannot find this thing anywhere.

Also, I'm team "make the necklace." I think you could get the exact same effect for under $100.

Oh man, "things I wish existed" lists are actually my FAVORITE because I love a good search / rabbit hole. My question is, can you wear men's shoes / are those wide enough?

Mara Pellittieri's avatar

Sometimes! A men’s wide is ideal, and easier to find than an extra wide women’s, so that’s what I wear for exercise sneakers. The trick with other types of men’s shoes is usually finding them small enough — I’m a women’s 9.5, which is usually around a men’s 7.5/8, depending on the brand. Nisolo has a great men’s pair of huaraches that still comes to enough of a point, I just couldn’t find them small enough.

I would check Etsy for huaraches. They have tons for both men and women. Just read the reviews and check the shipping costs, and you should be fine.

If jumpsuits are out of style, call me old fashioned 😂😂😂 you will have to pry my jumpsuits out of my hands.

I feel like people get embarassed about having to use the bathroom in Jumpsuits and thats why theyre kind of out of vogue. Everytime I wear one into work someone asks if I'm embarassed going pee in one.

I just always tell them I used to work at a waterpark and they always bought us really cheap suits so I'm used to being completely naked in a bathroom stall with someones kid pounding on the door like a heathen 😂

Jumpsuits are definitely on trend in my personal style lately! I traded for an oversized one on Lucky Sweater and it’s all I’ve been wanting to wear lately so I’m on the hunt for more.

That's so cool! I'm curious what the jumpsuit you traded for is!

The brand is Kantha Bae, I hadn’t heard of them before but they make really cool items from reclaimed saris in India. The jumpsuit is “free size” which the website claims is up to size 24

I am doing a lot of separates this year and skirts have been much easier to find than tops, so my wishlist is all tops that I’m waffling about, or are the right color but not cut, or vice versa.

Yes! In the picture she's wearing it with wide-legged jeans. So cute! I think it would be so hot though to wear in New Mexico in the spring/summer... Maybe save it for fall?

I thought of you last week when I wore my denim button up and realized that it has reached the end of the road with me. I had a few denim shirts that I had thrifted over the last few years, and one by one, they have been donated back as my shoulders/chest require more room. So top of my wish list is a denim button up!

The other major things (determined during my winter/summer clothing switch last week) are a pair of black denim shorts with at least a 4-5" inseam and a couple racerback bras, since most of my tank tops are that style.

I have the light wash version of the old navy vest! It fits me really well actually - but I still have to figure out how to style it.

I’m a 22-24 normally there, hard to pin down- but I got the 3x! It’s a bit oversized which I don’t think it’s supposed to be haha but the 2x was too tight. It’s hard to find fat inspiration for vests tho and I’ve been sewing and altering vests because I love how they look on thin bodies, but I am finding with my stomach and boobs that the proportions are just looking wonky

This recipe is similar, minus the cream. I've been making it for over a decade (hence the source). https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/recipes/a11630/easy-delicious-and-yes-elegant-pots-de-creme/

I'm curious about the blender chocolate mousse, let us know how it turned out!

I can't stop thinking about these clogs from Sorel - I like that they have a rubber bottom, I feel like that would make them more practical for daily use. I'm also obsessed with the black studded pair, but they're mostly sold out now :( https://www.sorel.com/p/roamn-clog-rbr-%7C-572-%7C-8.5-195982476155.html?dwvar_195982476155_color=572

Also, I'm not usually a Torrid shopper beyond undergarments, but I have been eying this vest after seeing Madi McCool (@madi.mccool) wear it - I was shocked to see it was from Torrid! https://www.torrid.com/product/studio-high-neck-denim-vest/43646277.html

YES TO PICS! Also, I just did my seasonal closet swap and was pleased to be reminded about the many jumpsuits I own. LONG LIVE THE JUMPSUIT! They are airy, can be dressed up and down, and if you don't hydrate, they can be worn all day without issue.
