On Friday I had what I hope will be my second-to-last stomach tattoo appointment (pictures soon???) so I am once again feeling like someone recently tried to scratch their way into my inner organs. When I was previously complaining about the discomfort of a waistband over an open wound, someone suggested wearing a jumpsuit, which kind of made me wonder… what happened to jumpsuits? Are jumpsuits out of style? Am I imagining this? I know I used to have some, but I never wear them anymore. I might have one or two in the back of my closet, but none I really want to wear around the house on a weekend. I wish I had this one, but like 2 sizes bigger than what I normally wear, and with shorts on the bottom instead of pants.
Anyways, I haven’t been taking the good advice to forgo waistbands. Instead I’ve been wearing a baggy, soft cotton t-shirt tucked into my shorts AND underwear so that no waistbands are in direct contact with my tattoo wound.
While I’ve been laying low, there are a few things I keep adding to my shopping cart (but never checking out.) Almost everything is either striped or light blue… or both. Not very true spring of me! Do you ever notice these kind of patterns while you’re shopping and wonder whether they are being driven by external trends or internal desires or some combination of both?

State the Label Tent Dress (up to 2XL)
Okay, not striped or light blue, but this garment is so appealing to me! I remember last year State the Label had a green stripey version of this dress that I was lusting after. And now in denim it is basically irresistible to me. The one thing that has kept me from buying this is the sleeves—3/4 length sleeves are not my favorite! And also, I never wear dresses, I must keep reminding myself. But is it a dress?? It could not be.
I saw these socks in real life a few weeks ago and I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. I would buy them, but… it feels like the wrong season to be buying cushy socks? And they are expensive. But I wish I was wearing them at this very moment! Maybe I will go back and buy them.
Big Bud Press Striped Overshirt & Light Wash Carpenter Shorts (up to 6XL)
What’s this green color called? Italian emerald, you say? I’m sold. This looks like the ideal summer overshirt. I wish there were a short-sleeve version, too! I’m also a really big fan of the BBP light wash denim, so these shorts have been calling to me, but I wish I felt more confident that they would fit me as well as they fit the thin model.
Old Navy Button Front Jean Vest (up ot 4X)
There is ABSOLUTELY no way I am going to like how this looks on me—too low cut, I think—but I reallllllly like it in theory. I noticed that in photos on the matching shorts (also v. cute!) page, they don’t show the vest on the largest model… HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS. Maybe one of you will buy it and wear it and send me photos.
The way I am pining for this necklace! I know gold is super expensive right now, but the price seems astronomical. It’s probably not, what would I know, but I still can’t afford it. Could I make a version myself? Would I wear it if I did??
I could go on, but let me stop myself there! What’s on your wishlist right now? Anything light blue or striped? Have you noticed any patterns in your shopping lately? Any colors or designs or textures that keep popping up for you?
On a totally different note, I’m making chocolate mousse for a dear friend’s birthday today. I’m going to try this recipe because I trust Natasha Pickowicz, but now I’m curious if anyone else has made chocolate mousse or similar recently and has a recipe they love.

TLDR: big belly friendly junpsuit @ Oddbird Co.
So, I carry a lot of weight in my lower belly, which hangs pretty low apron style over my groin and upper hips. This makes finding pants very hard since the rise is never high enough, I get a front butt effect very easily, and anything one piece like jumpsuits and swimsuits is suuuuper hard to find as the torso part is bever long enough. But lately I won a Divane Jumpsuit from Oddbird Co. during a live event they did and it fits like a dream. It has a cool sewn-in tie at the waist, which I personnally like, a wide leg, batwing elbow length sleeves, deep pockets, deep V-neck, a long zipper in the front. It’s easy to put on. Oddbird fabrics are always wonderful, too. This one is turkish cotton and rayon I think? Pretty lightweight, flowy. Anyway, a very well fitting jumpsuit. For ref I’m 5’4, size 4/5X, 26/28, 55-50-63. I wear their 5X and there’s a picture of me in it on their IG.
Ok, I've been liking all the beaded necklaces I've seen lately, so I picked up some beads, and I'm telling you you can make that necklace (not in aquamarine obviously) for $20.
