I've been inundated with 4B content since the election. If you missed it, 4B is a feminist movement that started in South Korea in which women do not date, get married to, have sex with, or procreate with men. But 4B has a style component, too. As Anna Louie Sussman wrote for The Cut, Korean women involved the movement “publicly turn away from societally imposed beauty standards by cutting their hair short and going barefaced.” As I’ve been scrolling through 4B TikToks, I’m starting to think about what the aesthetics of the Trump resistance will look like.
Here’s what I’m seeing…

Post-election Tiktok trends in beauty, grooming, fashion, & shopping
How these trends overlap, contradict, and coalesce
What Trump’s tariffs could mean for the fashion industry
The outfit I find myself rewearing and how to make sense of all this
