I just pulled this incredible looking cornbread out of the oven to bring to a friend’s house later:
It’s purple because I used local blue cornmeal. I used this recipe by
who some may recall from her Style Questionnaire back in August.I had to run to the store to get buttermilk for that recipe. In doing so, I did have a moment of wishing that I could just pop onto the highway and bop over to Whole Foods rather than sitting at ten million traffic lights. For anyone interested in ditching the Amazon-owned grocery store, I’ll be sharing some swaps I’ve made in tomorrow’s newsletter.
A few things in my various shopping carts:
I shared these in the chat, but these sweatpants (00-40) are french terry, a great color, mostly cotton and 45% off. I’ve really been feeling the need for more elastic waist pants in my life lately.
I have more to say on the subject of swim (coming soon!) but this swimsuit (12-30) checks a couple of important boxes for me: simple design, great color, crinkly material.
I probably would have bought this shimmery vintage sheer button down (22/24) if the listing had garment measurements!! Maybe you’re braver than I. Also, why can you not filter by size when shopping for vintage / secondhand on Esty? This seems like a huge oversight. Am I doing it wrong?
In case you missed it:
I finally got that ubiquitous hand cream and reviewed it.
I bought & reviewed a bunch of items of that are supposed to make me *glow*
I thought about buying a matching eyelet set (someone in the chat did buy it and it looks FIRE!!!!!)
I made a list of dress pants size 5X & up with the help of a Big Undies reader. If you’re ever looking for a thing in a size, reach out!!!
What else?
Did you know there is a whole newsletter dedicated to
? That’s pretty cool.A great guide to Mutual Aid and the comments are FULL of mutual aid orgs all over the country. Add yours maybe!
Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Good Queer News / Ben Greene are just a delight. The library in the town near my work brought him in a few months ago as a speaker. The 90 minute session for his talk/Q&A was not enough. I could listen to him for days on end and it still wouldn’t be enough. I’m so thankful for his optimism.
That CORNBREAD!!! I am drooling! :D I love cornbread, and didn't even know there was blue cornmeal, but it sure is cool looking! Please let us know how it tasted!!
I have purchased vintage clothes on Etsy, but I message the sellers if measurements aren't given! I do the same thing on Poshmark. I have wasted too much money buying stuff that was supposed to be "true to size."
That bathing suit is super cute, and a great Spring color!!!
