Loved this interview. She hits on so many relatable thoughts. I really resonate with finding looks on others that you really like but not being able to parse out if they are your own style or just for appreciation at a distance.

I would also be curious for her “borderline orthopedic” shoe recommendations. Because I’m in the same boat and while I am die hard for some birks I can’t wear open toe to work.

I wore danskos for years! I’ve also had good luck with hokas, and I may try a pair of closed toe birks soon (they make them for kitchen workers)

Thanks for the response! I should try Hokas cause I have heard that from a few people. The Danskos are too tight across the top of my foot for some reason. And yes to any form of birks!

I swear by Hokas and they come in wider sizes.

I love this today!!! It makes me feel good when someone who looks so put together (like Bronwen!!) says she has problems figuring out what to wear (like me--a misfit toy!). And holy smoke, those CAKES!!!!! I don't know if I want them more because they're beyond beautiful, or because I really want to eat them! I want to fill my house with this artistry! I wish I had framed prints of some of these, seriously <3

I'm a New Orleanian and can confirm Bronwen's cakes are as gorgeous and delicious in real life as they look. All the style comments are relatable - I've had a similar catapult from straight-sized to plus-sized and it's so hard to re-learn fashion all at once. What brands work, what sizes work, how some fits seem fine in a dressing room but don't feel good after an hour, etc. Also the shoes - I have very wide feet and very high arches which reduces me to very few shoe options! Loved this interview!

The Orthopedic shoe comment really hit for me. I pretty much alternate the same two pairs of hokas every day and I often feel less stylish than I think I could be if I could wear another shoe with them. Was excited to add my new platform mary jane crocs to the rotation, though!

I’ve also had decent luck with naturalized! Lots of their shoes come in wide

Bronwen’s style is fantastic. Her mentioning raiding her father-in-law’s closet inspired me to look at my husband’s t-shirt collection.

This is so rad and makes me want to pull out the osei duro dress I ordered the wrong size in (too big) and wear it as a duster!

Too big is always better than too small!! Make you can wear it as a wrap somehow?

Corinne, I love these style questionnaires so so so much. Thank you for creating this space. And Bronwen, thank you for sharing all of this. The tshirt with fancyish skirt and birkenstocks seems like such a fun yet still comfy option. Maybe even Hokas with the t and skirt, as a fellow 12 wide wrecked my feet as a floor nurse, I love my Hokas.

What a fabulous interview. I love Bronwen’s honesty and also calling it like it is as our bodies change, grow, and what companies can do to stay inclusive and ethical. Plus her cakes!!!
