Last week on
we were talking about the recommendations we’ve made that have held up and the ones that haven’t. Perhaps unsurprisingly, some of the things that haven’t held up were clothes from Target and Old Navy. It was a good reminder that while those places can be a real lifesaver when you need something that fits fast, it’s not longlasting.Thrifting is a great way to avoid shopping fast fashion and to find something unique and hopefully better made. As rewarding as it can be, it can be equally frustrating as a fat person to comb through racks at your local Savers and find *nothing* in your size.
Lately, I’ve been having the best luck on eBay. Ebay seems to be the place that most consistently has measurements for clothing, either in the description or in the photos, which is a necessity for me at this point. I have noticed The RealReal has started to list measurements, too, and I will be keeping an eye on that.
After the paywall you’ll find four tips for shopping on eBay plus five of my eBay finds.
