You Want Pants That Are Neither Leggings Nor Carpenter Pants? I Can Help!
The Perfect Pants DO EXIST
Two weeks ago I got an email that made me so happy:
I am trying to find the perfect pants that are functionally pajamas but skew masc of center, as most of the very comfy options such as Betabrand and the yoga/office pants that most retailers have tend toward a pretty femme silhouette. I have Dovetail workwear’s drawstring waist pants (can’t remember what they’re called, they’re comfy) but I wonder what options exist that are not literally leggings or come ready with straps to hang hammers from. I’m a 2X/3X and a very casually dressed trauma therapist.
Thank you!!!
Non-binary in the Northwest
Obviously I’m not happy that people are struggling to find pants, but I have maybe never felt more equipped to answer an email—partially because this feels like my struggle a lot of the time! And I am happy to be reaching an audience of people who want to be comfortable but who don’t necessarily subscribe to gender norms, although you are also welcome here if that does not describe you!
Anyways, Non-binary in the Northwest has a great point here. It does sometimes feel on the spectrum from loungewear leggings to tough-as-nails pants designed for manual labor, the middle ground is hard to find.
