Recently, I fell in love with an adorable striped sweater on the internet. The sweater was knit from grey and blue cotton, with a boxy shape and slightly cropped sleeves. It had a nubbly texture that made it look soft and sturdy and sophisticated, but also the right texture for hiding stains and crumbs. It had big, chunky wooden buttons. Buttons that looked like… well, they looked like some kind of Montessori toy! Like they were made of birch plywood? And intentionally oversized for motor skill development? Was this a toddler sweater?
